Nueces County Republican Party Calls for Prayers for Charlie Kirk’s Family

Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas —

On September 10th, the Nueces County Republican Party was saddened to learn about the violent assassination of Charlie Kirk while he visited Utah Valley University for an event. Mr. Kirk was murdered while exercising one of our fundamental rights as Americans: engaging in free speech. For this to occur on a college campus, a place where such rights should be championed the most, is disheartening.

We share our condolences for his family in this saddening time. Mr. Kirk was a devoted husband and father of two. The loss of a father and husband is impossible to describe. The hole in their hearts and all of those whose lives he touched is vast.

We call on the members of our county party, the people of Nueces County, and everyone else across the nation to pray for his family. Our party firmly believes that prayers do matter. God is listening and can bring healing.

Hate must never be allowed to win. Mr. Kirk’s career was centered on wielding the basic American right of freedom of speech to engage people across the country in heartfelt debate about the future of our country. His death occurred while he was performing the important and heroic work of reaching out to young people and getting them to take up their role as citizens. That should not be forgotten in the wake of this tragedy.

The Nueces County Republican Party thanks Charlie Kirk for a life of service and enduring the slings and arrows of an oft cruel world to advance the causes of liberty and protecting the American Constitution.
