Nueces County Republican Party Celebrates Landmark Victories!
November 6, 2024 – Nueces County delivered an unprecedented outcome for Republicans, achieving a remarkable 10-seat gain over Democrats and securing all our Republican-held seats. With this incredible support, we proudly confirm that Nueces County is solidly Republican and keeping Texas, Texas.
Across the state, Texans made their voices heard, reaffirming their commitment to conservative values. We celebrate Senator Ted Cruz’s re-election and the victory of all our statewide Republican officials, reinforcing that Texas remains a stronghold for the principles of freedom, fiscal responsibility, and security.

Here in Nueces County, the seats flipped from Democrat to Republican are a testament to the alignment of our community’s values with a vision for limited government and robust individual rights. These wins include key positions that will have a lasting impact on our community and state:

- Denise Villalobos, Texas House District 34
- Jamie Tijerina, Chief Justice of the 13th Court of Appeals
- Jenny Cron, Place 2 of the 13th Court of Appeals
- Ysmael Fonseca, Place 4 of the 13th Court of Appeals
- Jon West, Place 5 of the 13th Court of Appeals
- Michael McCauley, 28th District Judge
- Jimmy Granberry, District Attorney – First ever elected Republican to Nueces DA
- Mike Pusley, County Commissioner Precinct 1
- Chris Dorr, Constable Precinct 1
Additionally, we successfully defended key seats that Democrats challenged, with victories for Congressman Michael Cloud in CD27, Rep. Todd Hunter in Texas House District 32, Judge Inna Klein 214th District Court, and Jo Woolsey Justice of the Peace Precinct 2 Place 1. These wins, along with seven uncontested seats, reflect a united commitment from voters to advance the conservative principles that protect and uplift our community.
