13-Sep-2010 - Emergency Executive Committee Meeting to Elect New County Chairman After the surprise resignation on Ron McLain, an emergency executive committee meeting was called to elect a new county chairman. Tom Knight was selected to be the temporary chairman until a new chairman was voted in. Kimberly Curtis was unanimously elected. Three of the four new precinct chairmen were sworn in before the vote took place. Six more precinct chair applicants for vacant precincts were approved and three that were in attendance were sworn in. June Gildersleeve as Secretary and Mark Gurgevich as Sergeant-at-arms were retained from Mr. McLain's officers. Mike Bergsma was selected to be the new Vice-chairman, David Stith as the new Parliamentarian, and Suzie Anfante as new Treasurer. No legal council was chosen at this meeting. Selecting committee chairman was postponed until the next meeting. |

24-Aug-2010 - 2nd Executive Committee Meeting of the new chairman. After a lengthy debate, the by-laws that were approved by the by-laws committee were voted down and new by-laws from the by-laws committee chairman were voted on and adopted for the NCRP. A resolution supporting Gov. Rick Perry's re-election was introduced and passed unanimously. There were 4 new precinct chairmen applicants for vacant precincts that were voted on and approved after brief statements by the applicants and questions from the executive committee members. |

19-May-2010 - First Executive Committee Meeting of the new chairman. New officers were chosen and the Secretary position was voted upon. Adoption of the new by-laws was tabled and an adhoc committee was chosen to review the new by-laws and report back at the next meeting. The two republican candidates for the Nueces County District Attorney addressed the committee for 10 minutes each and answered questions. Each candidate was allowed three people to speak in their behalf. The Executive Committee members voted and selected Anna Jimenez (26 votes) over James Sales (16 votes) to be on the November ballot for District Attorney. |
